    FAQ

Is our Basic Sailing Course right for you?
    • YES, if you have little to no experience and want to feel more confident at sea.
    • YES, if you want to use this learning opportunity to meet new friends.
    • YES, if you want to try something new and unique, combining fun and learning.

The Different Sailing Basic Course is the perfect way to connect with people who share your passion for the sea. Together, we will share incredible sailing experiences that could be the start of an exciting journey. Our lessons and on-board practice provide the essential foundations to approach a sailing license course with greater mastery and confidence. Are you ready for this new adventure?

Do I need a nautical license?

No, a license is not mandatory to participate. The course has its own educational value and takes place in waters where a license is not required. If you are planning to obtain one, feel free to ask us how to integrate this course into your training path.

    What should I bring?

A soft duffel bag, a sweatshirt for the evening, swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, a hat, a snorkeling mask, and shoes with non-marking light-colored soles. If you require personal medications, please bring them with you.

How does the “Kitty” (common fund) work?

It is a shared pool for the galley (food and drinks), fuel, and any port fees (if applicable). The skipper is exempt from these costs. The total amount varies depending on the group’s preferences and choices.

    What if I get seasick?

It happens: we will help you with practical advice on diet, positioning on board, and timing. If you know you are prone to motion sickness, we recommend bringing a personal remedy you have already tested.

How does the final evaluation work?

The instructor monitors each participant throughout the weekend, focusing on harbor maneuvers, anchoring, sailing, and teamwork. On Sunday afternoon, before disembarking, every participant receives individual feedback on the skills acquired along with a recommendation on the most suitable next step for their journey.
